Barclays Center Facilities Presentation

Production Supervisor

In February 2019 I earned the title of Production Supervisor. In this position, I train any new Production Coordinators for department workflow, basic Adobe Creative Cloud work, and arena protocols. Additionally, I have created extensive documentation on department equipment to assist in the training of Production Coordinators. Along with various documentation for season-long projects, such as visiting team headshots. This position also acts as a support role for our engineering team.

Additionally, this position has me overseeing all workflow for our Livestream HD550 system which is the final stop before video feeds hit encoders for the front-of-house broadcast. Within this system, I have been able to create wipes dependent on the event and added various graphical overlays with real-time data integration. I created an easy-to-use spreadsheet through Google Drive that links with the Livestream system to show Out-of-town scores from the NBA, NFL, MLB, and NHL. This system automatically pulls images for team logos for display along with game score and timing data. The Livestream operator can update individual leagues through script-linked buttons on the spreadsheet that will then push the new data to the Livestream program for seamless on-screen display.

In this position, I was able to expand my role in the Daktronics system. Learning more on the backend and frontend of their systems, including Venus Control Suite, PBUS triggering, and statistic system troubleshooting as a few examples.

I also used this position to learn more about After Effects by remaking the Nets Open LEDs. The proof is shown below. The main video is unchanged from the original, and some resources from the original LEDs were repurposed in the remake.

Production Coordinator

Starting in October 2017 I joined the Barclays Center Facilities Presentation Department as a production coordinator. Responsible for many areas in the control room such as setting routes, prepping game day elements, and script sponsored content for various building ad sets; this position required excellent troubleshooting and quality control skills to ensure all elements across the arena are set for every event. Gameday prep included editing all headshots across the entire NHL and NBA leagues to ensure all traded players were updated in the correct jerseys, and scripting LED playout buttons in Daktronics Display Studio. Additionally, I worked with After Effects and Photoshop to build out ad sets and upcoming event promos for in-arena displays.
